Catalogue Note
Cotovicus travelled to the Levant in 1598 via Corfu, Zante, Rhodes, Crete and Cyprus (there is a map of each in the text and a particularly lengthy prose description of the last two). Many of the plates were re-engraved from Jean Zuallart's Il devotissimo viaggio di Gierusalemme (Rome, 1587).
