Catalogue Note
a fine copy, one of 25 printed on royal paper, of this work, published posthumously by Richard Mead. Five hundred copies of the book were printed in all, and most seem to have been subscribed for. The subscribers represent all walks of life, and three libraries, one of them that of Corpus Christi College, Oxford, where Chishull was both undergraduate and fellow. Chishull also published a number of antiquarian works (also printed by Bowyer), based on his travels, and after his death, his substantial library was sold at auction by John Whiston on 25 March 1735.
