Catalogue Note

first edition of this celebrated work. The text includes a brief extract on the fall of Constantinople by Isidore of Kiev taken from a volume published in 1484 by Koberger (Antoninus Florentinus, Chronicon, Goff A778), an anonymous extract on the capture of Negroponte in 1470 and of Ydruntini, and on the siege of Rhodes by Guillaume Caorsin (the longest of these additional texts), together with a short piece of medical advice for pilgrims, which, aptly, begins with how to deal with sea-sickness. In this copy there are a few manuscript marginalia.
