Condition
The canvas is unlined and well stretched. Under raking light there appears to be faint craquelure throughout the work especially in the sky. There are also a series of small losses along the left edge most likely from frame abrasions. Additionally, there are two more small losses in the sky in the upper right. In the lower right corner in the water there are a few stains right next to the boat. There is a small 1/8 in loss in the center of the water. The canvas is buckled especially in the lower left quadrant near the rocks.
There is an area of inpainting in the same area that is approx 3 in. where the work appears to have been slightly dented.
