Condition

The work has been executed on a hollow core wood panel, with small rubber bumpers on either end of the bottom side edge. The reverse and side edges have been painted white. The Duco paint layer appears to have been applied in multiple layers and possibly finely sanded to achieve the smooth, translucent passages of paint. The surface sheen is slightly variable but generally glossy. Fine cracks are at the turning edges due to the construction of the hollow core panel. Slightly raised cracks and occasional loss has occurred in a few locations in the white vertical band on the left edge and in the blue vertical band on the right edge, some of which has been toned back with inpainting. The cracks appear to be stable. Light rubs, shallow abrasions, and faint drip marks are scattered, primarily visible in raking light. Some minor areas of inpainting are along the edges and at the corners, and a linear area of inpainting is 7 5/8 - 7 7/8" from the lower edge and 3/8 - 2 3/8" from the right. The painting is in good and stable condition overall. (This condition report has been provided courtesy of Amann and Estabrook Conservation Associates.)
