Description
Designed as a looped scroll suspending a pendant drop of similar design, embellished with oval garnets, cushion- and pear-shaped chrysoberyls, the gold decorated with chased acanthus designs, fitted case, detachable drop.
Condition
The garnets a vibrant reddish purple with moderately strong saturation of colour, a couple with a more brownish tone, well matched in colour on the whole. The chrysoberyls a very light greenish yellow hue, even distribution of colour very well matched in colour throughout. Linking suspending the drop a little damaged, the support bracket on reverse of one length of articulated chain split in two places. Tarnish to reverse of pendant drop, not visible when worn, could benefit from a professional clean. One loop of drop a little misshapen to reverse, not visible when worn. Pin fitting strong. Original case, come discolouration to silk inside lid and to velvet interior, exterior with some rubbed edges and scuff marks to top and underside. In very good condition.
