PAIR OF SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND EAR CLIPS, CARTIER, 1940s

Description

Each designed as a flower head, the petals composed of carved sapphires, with a circular sapphire bead to the centre inset with a single-cut diamond, signed Cartier Paris, numbered, with French assay marks.

Condition

Stamped with French assay marks for 18 carat gold. Signed to the underside. Each numbered 0828 to the outside of clip. Sapphires a dark blue with strong saturation of colour, some with cavities and surface reaching fractures visible only with magnification. Strong clip fittings. Light scratching to polished petals consistent with age and wear. Slight tarnish to underside of petals, could benefit from a professional clean. In very good condition.
