PAIR OF EMERALD AND DIAMOND EAR PENDANTS, VAN CLEEF & ARPELS, EARLY 20TH CENTURY

Each articulated section and cap decorated with single-cut diamonds, suspending an emerald drop, each later surmount centring on a circular cabochon emerald within a similarly-set border, screw post fittings, signed VC&A and numbered, composite.

Emeralds a medium green with moderate saturation of colour, typical inclusions visible with the naked eye, some yellowish discolouration visible, several surface reaching inclusions and cavities. Diamonds of mixed colours and clarities one ear pendant signed VC&A. and numbered 548. Surmounts not original to earrings. Gold solder to fittings and loop on reverse of surmounts, not visible when worn. Screw post fittings, earring backs each stamped 14K. Polished metal scratched consistent with age and wear. In good condition.
