  • 180 by 143cm., 70 7/8 by 56 5/16 in.
kakemono, depicting possibly Fujiwara Morokata in a gathering at an open meeting with courtiers and scholars, whilst in hiding at Hieizan in Kyoto, in ink and colour on silk, with lacquer weights, fitted with double boxes, one with an attestation by one of his pupils Tanryo, the painting signed Nancho hyakusaku kore ichi, Meiji jugo nen jugatsu tsuitachi [15th year of Meiji, October lst], Kawabe Mitate kin zu with two seals, the inner box signed Fujiwara Shiken ho Chokufu Eizan no zu and interior signed by Tanryo, with two attestation letters by Tanryo and Norimasa
