the body decorated in silver, gold and shakudo takazogan with one of the three famous sights of Japan (Nihon sankei): a view of the  dramatic gate (torii) of Itsukushima shrine at low tide in front of Mount Misen, the island's famous maple trees and other buildings in the background, the cover intricately pierced and carved with assorted seashells in low relief, fitted with a silver liner, engraved with the mark of the Hattori company
