Description

of shallow torii-zori, shinogi-zukuri with bo-hi either side extending towards the end of the nakago, chu-kissaki, deep choji-midare hamon of nie and nioi with some slanting choji, ashi and yo, midare-komi boshi, itame-mokume-hada with ji-nie, suriage-nakago with fine katte-sagari yasurime and one mekugi-ana, mumei, 74.2cm., 29 1/4 in., sori (curve) 1.3cm., 5/8 in.; in shirasaya

A certificate of the 14th Juyo Token (Important Sword), No. 1711, issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon (Society for the Preservation of the Japanese Sword), date 20th April, 1966, attributing the blade to Kanenaga,  accompanies this lot
