Condition

a few scattered light spots of mold, minor scattered chipping along edges, frame abrasion, small loss to lower right corner, white tape along edges of reverse, remnants of paper tape to sides of reverse, traces of mold

Catalogue Note

The present work is a study for Ury's monumental painting Jerusalem, which was believed to have been destroyed during World War II but recently rediscovered.  This work will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné Lesser Ury being prepared by Dr. Sibylle Gross and will be accompanied by a photocertificate from Dr. Gross dated May 31, 2007.
