Condition

This panel is unvarnished and more or less clean. The panel itself at some point in its history cracked vertically, from top to bottom, in a couple of places, and as a result the panel was cradled. Currently the surface flat, the paint layer is secure and the breaks in the panel are joined. There is a thin restoration addressing one of the cracks situated slightly to the left of the center and another crack which runs through the middle of the teapot holding the flowers. These retouches could be improved slightly. This condition report has been kindly provided by Simon Parkes Art Conservation.
