Catalogue Note

inscribed 'Max Ernst,' dated '48,' and numbered '4/VI' on the base, with the foundry mark 'MA CAST 91', and inscribed 'K' on the underneath; conceived in cement in 1948 and cast in bronze in an edition of six by the Modern Art Foundry, New York; the present bronze was cast in 1991.
