The canvas is not lined. Under UV light there is no evidence of any retouching. This work is in very good condition.

Catalogue Note
Après avoir suivi l'abstraction lyrique et biomorphique, Donati en 1950, découvre les propriétés plastiques des fossiles. Naissent alors les séries de Moonscapes et des Sargon où il explore les valeurs expressives et tactiles de la matière. Certaines oeuvres de Donati de cette époque dénotent l'influence de l'expressionnisme abstrait américain et du spatialisme.
