Catalogue Note

Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives confirming production with brown dial in 1974 and sale on September 27th, 1977. Together with a fitted Patek Philippe presentation box.

Reference 3589, the Grande Ellipse, was manufactured during the 1970s. A rare model, approximately only fifteen pieces in yellow gold have appeared at auction. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time the present example has been offered at auction.

The dial on the current watch is made of 'Vermeer' gold, which has a brown color specially created by Patek Philippe. The numerals are engraved using the 'fraisé' technique that reveals the yellow gold dial plate beneath.
