Catalogue Note
Accompanied by a wooden IWC presentation box.
The ingenius design of the present watch allows it to be converted from an open-faced watch to a hunting cased watch by opening both the front bezel and back lid and unlocking the inner case. This then swivels inside the frame to face the opposite side.
The present example is number 41 from a limited edition of 250 pieces.
The present and following lot are part of a pocketwatch collection launched by IWC in 1984 as an effort to revive interest in pocketwatches and to showcase the firm's horological skills. These items, as well as others, were advertised in IWC's 1984 marketing brochure devoted to pocketwatches, 'The Watches from IWC: Volume I- The pocket watch.'
