Description

  • A GOLD, ENAMEL AND IVORY EIGHT-DAY DESK TIMEPIECECIRCA 1912
  • diameter 7.5cm.
• eight-day movement • white enamel dial, Roman numerals, diamond-set serpentine hands • the surround decorated with alternating blue and white enamel striated motif, gold bezel engraved with running foliage, the case composed of ivory fitted with a silvered metal strut • dial signed Cartier, strut hand-stamped with Cartier numbers, strut and the gold bezel both stamped with the maker's mark EB

Condition

The movement is not running and will require service. The movement is numbered 90289. The dial has some light spotting throughout and a chip at 12 o'clock. There are no visible losses to the enamel, and it has a very attractive appearance, although there are some light surface scratches to the glazed finish, most notably at 12 o'clock. There are no losses to the seed pearls. The central part of the ivory case back is cracked, and there are cracks to the ivory below the two feet of the strut. The strut is hand stamped 3951. Accompanied by an associated Hermès fitted presentation box. Please be advised that because the timepiece contains ivory, it cannot be shipped overseas without a CITES permit.
