Catalogue Note
Accompanied by a Van Cleef & Arpels cloth pouch.
The calendar display function on the back dial allows the wearer to determine the day of the week on which any date will fall in the 21st century. The year portion of the display indicates leap years by underlining all four digits of the year, whereas non-leap years are listed by their last two digits and are not underlined.
The arc-form year display window can simultaneously display the days of the week for selected months of approximately 23 non-consecutive years. The model name 'Generation Calendar' presumably refers to the fact that in any given configuration, the early, middle and late parts of the century are represented, bringing to mind several different generations of wearers.
