• cal 12-600AT nickel lever movement stamped twice with the seal of Geneva, Gyromax balance, 30 jewels, micrometer regulator, adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions, 18k engine-turned signed rotor • silvered dial, applied gold baton indexes, subsidiary seconds • 18k gold square case, concave bezel, angular lugs • case, dial and movement signed

Condition

The movement is running, however it may require service soon. The dial bears some marks, most noticeably at the edges at 7 and 10 o'clock. The case bears scuffs and signs of wear throughout and a scratch on the band. The width is 32mm. Overall, this is an attractive, unusual watch. The strap of this wristwatch is made from an endangered species; please refer to Important Notices for further information.

Ref. 2540, produced from 1954 until 1960, was Patek Philippe's first square automatic wristwatch. The present example is one of approximately thirty pieces from this series to appear at auction. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time the present lot has been offered at auction.
