Condition

The watch is not running and will require service. A recent estimate from a New York City watch repairman quoted the price of repair to approximately $300. The dial has a brushed finish and appears very clean. The case has been polished and bears some signs of light wear. The inside of the case is stamped HOX. The bracelet has a ripple and does not lay flat.
"In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. All dimensions in catalogue descriptions are approximate. Condition reports may not specify mechanical replacements or imperfections to the movement, case, dial, pendulum, separate base(s) or dome. Catalogue Note

Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives confirming production in 1970 and sale on June 12th of that year. Together with a Patek Philippe fitted presentation box.

When this model, Ref. 3520, was first released in 1965, Patek Philippe advertised it as 'the flattest waterproof watch in the world.' The 'D' in the reference number is short for 'décor' and refers to the clous de Paris, or hobnail-patterned, bezel.

To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time the present example has been offered at auction.
