The movement is running, however we recommend service soon. The dial is nice and clean with almost no visible wear. The case shows general wear and light surface scuffs throughout. The engraved Olympic symbol to the back is slightly worn. The leather strap appears to be original, however that is hard to tell for certain.

Catalogue Note

Accompanied by original Omega Garantía de Origen, booklet, fitted presentation box with Olympic logo and outer packaging.

The present model, Seamaster XVI, was produced by Omega for a limited period of time to celebrate the Summer Games of the XVI Olympiad in Melbourne, Australia and Stockholm, Sweden.

The Games of the XVI Olympiad are notable as they were, and still remain, the only time that two cities hosted the competition. Due to Australian quarantine regulations for horses, Stockholm was selected as the host of the equestrian events.

These Games were also the first to take place in the Southern Hemisphere, which meant they were held in late November and early December - autumn for countries in the Northern Hemisphere.

The Melbourne Olympics showcased Australian's excellence in international competition, including swimmer Murray Rose's three gold medals in swimming and Betty Cuthbert's three running gold medals in Track & Field.

It is extremely unusual to find an example of this model that still retains its original presentation box and guarantee.
