  • height 22.5cm., diameter 13cm.
• cal. 17-250É photo-electric movement • rectangular silvered dial, circular brushed gilt chapter ring, dauphine hands • the case decorated with a cloisonné enamel jungle scene by Mme Pellarin depicting various creatures including a monkey, a lion, a snake, a leopard and birds over a polychromal green background and intersecting arcs throughout, the revolving top fitted with the solar panel, mounted on three fluted feet • dial and movement signed Patek Philippe

Condition

Please note the clock is also accompanied by an Extract from the Archives confirming production with 'The Jungle' cloisonné enamel scene in 1957 and sale on December 1st, 1958. Together with a Patek Philippe fitted presentation box. The clock is not running as the battery in it is dead. It appears as if it has leaked onto the bottom and inside of the case. The movement will not run until it gets a battery to transfer energy from the solar panel to the winding motor. The enamel is in good order and is intact. The gilding on the case, however, has been rubbed off throughout. The dial is clean with no surface marks on it.

Catalogue Note

Accompanied by a Certificate of Origin from Patek Philippe that does not provide the movement number, but lists the production date as 1958 for 'The Jungle,' by Mme Pellarin and the date of sale as 1981. Together with a Patek Philippe fitted presentation box.

Mme Pellarin is among the most esteemed master enamelers. Her exquisite work can be found on other Patek Philippe enamel pieces, among them 'The Check,' Sotheby's New York, June 2007, lot 139.
