Catalogue Note
Production of reference 3940 began in 1985, and was the successor to references 3448 and 3450. The second series of reference 3940, to which the present lot belongs, was manufactured between 1988 and 1998. Visually, the main difference between the first and second series was in the subsidiary dial of leap year indication; unlike the first series, on the second, the leap year is crossed. The current lot with Roman numerals is rarer than baton numerals, according to our research, the Roman numerals model accounts for only 20% of total production.
