Catalogue Note
The current lot of the 'Portuguese Automatic 2000' wristwatches embodies in-house movement, calibre 50010, with its patented Pellaton automatic winding mechanism and 7 days power reserve. The Pellaton winding system differs from all conventional designs where it transmits the movement of the rotor via a cam disc to a rocking bar with synthetic jewelled rollers and a pawl syste. Today, this bi-directional winding system is considered the most efficient ever devised for a watch movement.
