Catalogue Note

In addition to the Certificate of Origin, the accompanying Extract from the Patek Philippe archives confirms that this wristwatch was manufactured in 1964, left the factory with "Diamond Hour Markers" and was sold on May 22nd the same year.

Reference 3445 was manufactured from 1961 until 1981. Examples in platinum are extremely rare and the present lot is the only one known with a full baguette numeral dial. At the time of writing, only 7 platinum reference 3445 wristwatches are known. An example of the reference with round cut and baguette numeral dial was sold at Sotheby's Geneva, 15th November 2005, lot 151. Our research of vintage Patek Philippe catalogues has found no mention of the reference's availability in platinum which may indicate that it was only available by special request, this may also explain why no other example has appeared with a full baguette numeral set dial.
