18k, damascened nickel lever movement (cal.27-460) stamped twice with the seal of Geneva, 18k gold rotor, 37 jewels, gyromax balance, adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions, silvered dial, applied baton numerals, subsidiary seconds, circular case with stepped chamfered bezel, faceted down-turned lugs and screw-down back, PP embossed crown, case, dial and movement signed, with an additional custom made sapphire crystal display back and an Extract from the Archives

Catalogue Note

The accompanying Extract from the Patek Philippe Archives confirms that this wristwatch was manufactured in 1963 and sold on May 8th, 1964.

Reference 3440 was manufactured from 1960 until c.1967. A rare reference, only 30 examples are known from the market, all of which are in yellow gold. A very similar example is illustrated in Huber, M., Banbery, A., Patek Philippe Wristwatches, Second Edition, p.221, pl.355.
