The present lot is one of only two ‘indirect’ centre seconds reference 565 wristwatches currently known with a pink gold case. The other known example is one number different from the present wristwatch both in movement and case number (no.864.802 & 644.576 respectively - against 864.803 & 644.577 of the present watch); both these watches bear Breguet numerals.

Production of reference 565 began in 1939 and was made in two series. The first series featured a calibre 12SC, movement with indirect seconds work by Victorin Piguet, whilst the second utilised a calibre 27SC. In 1952 the model was replaced by ref.2533.
