Condition

Overall in very good condition. The shade with approximately 8-10 cracks to the glass throughout. There are a few "Dutchmen" (lead flanges) on the exterior and interior of the shade, which all appear to be original and were most likely executed at Tiffany Studios to stabilize cracks to the glass. There are some occasional scattered areas to the exterior and interior leading of the shade where the patina appears to have been touched up in the past. These areas fluoresce when examined under black light, and are primarily at the higher extremities of the leading and filigree where the patina would have naturally become more worn. There are two small tiles located approximately one inch below the top aperture of the shade which appear to have been replaced. The rare sixteen-ball base is in exceptional condition, showing very gentle wear and rubbing to the patina. All of the iridized favrile glass balls (which display subtle variations in color) appear to be original and undisturbed, showing gentle signs of surface wear and rubbing. All of the sockets appear to be original. Two of the switches appear to have been replaced (presumably a long time ago, as they are old GE switches). With period finial, showing gentle signs of wear and rubbing to the favrile glass ball. A superb example of the model, displaying an extraordinary selection of glass, and a particularly rare base design.
