Description
On April 9, 1913, Ebbets Field opened at 55 Sullivan Place, in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn. The home of the Dodgers until 1957, the park was a mecca to the loyal working-class Brooklynites who relentlessly supported their "Beloved Bums." This turnstile was salvaged when the stadium was demolished in 1960. It is in original, working order in spite of some rusting at its base. The lucky patrons who passed through this relic witnessed many of baseball's greatest moments, including the debut of Jackie Robinson.
