Description
Standing 5 1/4" tall on a small wood base, this hand painted porcelain figurine of Goro Taniguchi comes in what appears to be its original wood box. In the early 1920s, the southpaw pitched for Waseda and Tomon, their OB club. He met his match in Ono, who pitched for Keio and Mita, their OB club. In 1922, he was much talked about for his bizzare windup motion. The gloved arm of the figurine was once broken and repaired, otherwise in excellent condition.
