Larry Siegfried 1967/68 Boston Celtics Shooting Shirt

Prior to his NBA days, Larry Siegfried was an integral part of the 1960 Ohio State NCAA Championship squad that boasted a roster of future NBA stars including teammates John Havlicek and Jerry Lucas (plus a reserve player named Bobby Knight). When he was drafted by the Boston Celtics, Siegfried's collegiate success made him feel right at home as a member of a Celtics squad with whom he'd win five NBA titles. Playing alongside the likes of Bill Russell, Tom Heinsohn and Havlicek (among other marquee names) Siegfried participated in a tradition of winning not rivaled before or since. This Celtics warm-up shirt  was worn by Siegfried during the team's 1967/68 World Championship campaign. This green dureen pullover garment features "CELTICS" arched across the chest in cream-colored satin twill, with "SIEGFRIED" applied to the back and the scrappy guard's number "20" sewn to the left shoulder in identical fashion. Green-and-white striped stretch ribbed nylon/cotton comprises the waistline and short sleeve endings and an eight-inch zipper is situated at the base of a 4"-wide collar. Within the latter feature, a "Wilson" manufacturer's label denotes size "46." Moderate wear. Originally obtained from former NBA referee Joe Gushue, the item is accompanied by an LOA signed by Gushue's son, as well as an LOA from MEARS (A10).
