Description
Casey Stengel was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame by the Committee of Baseball Veterans in 1966. Presented to him upon his induction in Cooperstown, this coveted miniature representation of his plaque summarizes his prolific career, as one of baseball's greatest managers. A symbol of baseball's highest honor, the plaque remains in its original frame as received by Casey. Two accompanying photo albums document the induction ceremony and surrounding events. Joining Stengel in gaining entry to the Hall that year was Ted Williams who is featured with Casey in many photos including several showing Casey receiving this very plaque. LOA from the Stengel family.
