Description
Stengel's stewardship of the 1948 PCL Champion Oakland Oaks was a testament to his managerial savvy and a major catalyst to his being hired as the skipper of the New York Yankees a year later. His ultimate season in the Pacific Coast League saw him earn selection as manager for the league's All-Star Game. For his efforts Casey was awarded this ring. Crafted in sterling silver, its design elements include a gold colored baseball at center surrounded by the words "Pacific Coast League All Star Game" in a ring of blue enamel. The year "1948" appears on the right shank and Casey's name "Casey Stengel" is engraved inside the band. The ring shows moderate wear. Size 11 1/2". LOA from the Stengel family.
