Description

Originally drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks, Alex English was underutilized on a club trying to rebuild and spent most of his first two seasons playing only a few minutes a game. After a stint with Indiana in 1978 English was traded to the Denver Nuggets.  The Nuggets did what the Bucks and Pacers had failed to do. They let him play. English roared into the 80’s with something to prove and the skills and determination to become one of the greatest scorers in the NBA. He was never flashy as his smooth style relied on technique and touch. While his contemporaries craved the spot light, English quietly went about the business of scoring. Playing for Doug Moe, a coach that craved an up-tempo, fast break style offense English thrived averaging almost 24 points per game in his first full season with the Nuggets. English would continue to dominate NBA scoring in the 80’s and became the first player to ever score 2,000 or more points in eight consecutive seasons. This 1987 Denver Nuggets road mesh jersey bears tagging on the left tail including the year tag "87" next to the "Sand-Knit" exclusive label. Below is the "Sand-Knit" label with the size "46." Across the front of the jersey is the name "Nuggets" in white tackle twill on a blue/gold backing and on the back of the shirt is a blue nameplate with the name "English" in gold tackle twill. His player number "2" appears on both the upper left front and on the back of the jersey in white tackle twill on a blue/gold backing. This gamer shows solid use throughout. LOAs from MEARS (A10) and Grey Flannel.
