apparently unmarked apart from post-1847 and post-1893 French control marks, circa 1910-20



oval, the lid inset with a shell cameo, Italian, 19th century, carved with the Triumph of Venus within a conforming gold frame, the ground and sides enamelled in translucent royal blue over wavy diaper engine-turning, the borders chased with acanthus

Condition

Apart from the unfortunate crack in the upper portion of the cameo, which has been repaired (see catalogue photo), this object is in excellent condition.
