maker“s mark FJ crowned incuse above a flourish with French prestige marks, circa 1815, the rim numbered: 2877, further struck: M3 and with scratched inventory numbers: 761 and 8940
rectangular with cut corners, the lid painted en plein with fisherfolk beside a waterfall at dawn, the sky of translucent pale pink enamel over sunburst engine-turning, within paillon florets, the sides and base enamelled in black with gold stripes, opaque turquoise and white enamel borders, the corners chased with urns

The right side panel has been restored and lacquered, otherwise in good order, with only minor surface scratches.
