maker's mark DMC crowned in a shield between two further prestige marks, circa 1785
circular, the lid with a central medallion painted en plein with Leda and the Swan, the translucent blue ground over pelleted reeding with chased and enamelled floral borders on a matted ground

Condition
The surface of the lid enamel has become textured over a significant area. This is partially visible in the catalogue photo but is more noticeable from other angles. Otherwise, the box is in good condition, with minor surface scratches to the centre of the base and scratching to the interior of the lid.
