French prestige marks including charge mark of J. Alaterre and date letter Y, further struck: 18K, 19th century, the rim with later French control marks
oval, the lid inset with an earlier enamel plaque painted with Jupiter fondling Callisto, the ground of translucent blue enamel within opaque white enamel and gold loop and pilaster borders

Condition
Excellent condition. The hinge has been repaired, and there is a slight catch when closing. Minor scratches to lid plaque.
