Condition

As noted in the catalogue description, this box has been re-enamelled and re-fired. As a result, the colour of the gold of the lid has altered, and much of the chased decoration has lost its crispness; this is especially true of the base border. There is a restored loss to the enamel of the front panel, visible in the catalogue photo.
