Description

Spanish, circa 1920, struck with pseudo hallmarks



rectangular, on four cast volute supports, the sides chased with ribbon-tied festoons, vases of flowers and other motifs within formal borders, inset on one side with a painted and champlevé enamel plaque including figures from classical mythology and on the other with an embossed scene of a satyr dancing with two maidens, the top with a winged cherub at each corner, the domed hinged cover applied with a crowned monogram (WR) set with diamonds, emeralds and a ruby, chased shallow interior compartment, the underside engraved with scrolling foliage

Condition

There are a handful of small enamel losses, some restored, and minor nicks to the gold. Otherwise in excellent order.
