Description

  • 16.5cm, 6 1/2 in high
on a reeded base, the plain body armorial engraved, with scroll handle and thumbpiece

Condition

The interior with splits at top and bottom of handle and flaking effect, the base of handle pushed in and with olds solder repair on exterior, some small dents overall good marks on body and cover, makers mark on handle.

Catalogue Note

The arms are those of Harbin impaling Wyndham for William Harbin of Newton, who was born in 1654, the eldest son of John Harbin of Newton by his first wife, Isabella, daughter of William Pert of Arnolds, co. Essex. Mr. Harbin married in 1673 Elizabeth, daughter of Sir Francis Wyndham, 1st Bt. of Trent, co. Somerset, and died in 1705. His will was proved on 18 December that year.
