apparently unmarked, Geneva, circa 1900
rectangular, the oval lid painted en plein with colourful birds, the reserve with an avian tragedy amidst fruit, trees and a snail, the sides with bouquets of summer flowers, dotted white enamel borders, the corners decorated with amphorae, enamelled dove lever, the back opening to a key compartment, the lid opening to reveal the feathered automaton which turns and trills

Condition
Very good condition. There are shallow losses to the blue enamel border at left side and at front left. The hinged back panel with an enamel loss at each upper corner, one restored. The bird turns somewhat languidly and at a slight angle; good clear sound. Well-painted.
