Louis-François Tronquoy, Paris, circa 1846, the rim numbered: 322



of quatrefoil form, decorated in blue and green basse-taille enamels, the lid with the ciphers AO and LF below a royal crown within leaf and strapwork borders, the sides and base similarly ornamented

Provenance

The ciphers are those of Antoine d'Orléans, duc de Montpensier and his bride Louise Ferdinande, daughter of Ferdinand VII, King of Spain.

Condition

Scrapes on lid enamel, visible in the catalogue photo, and also on three of the sides. Losses to blue enamel among scrollwork at sides, and a very small portion lacking on base. PLEASE NOTE: The rim is engraved: Mal. Bernard Joaillier a Paris.
