Description

  • width 9cm, 3 1/2 in

of navette form, the lid, sides and base painted en plein with pastoral subjects within chased scrolls and enamel garlands on a matted ground

Condition

An interesting and weighty box. The enamel panels in good condition, but there are scattered losses to the translucent enamels of the border flowers and leaves. This does not substantially detract from the attractiveness of the box.
