Description

  • width 8.6cm, 3 3/8 in
struck twice 14C in a rectangle, otherwise unmarked apart from later French import marks, probably German, early 19th century

rectangular with cut corners, decorated with stripes of vertical and horizontal reeding within multi-coloured paillon and enamel borders

Condition

The enamel has been lacquered throughout, leaving the extent of the restoration unknowable. On the whole, the restoration has been successful apart from urn on right front which is gold paint not paillons. Some lid scratches. There is a nick to edge of lid at 8 o'clock. General effect is good.
