- width 6.8cm, 2 5/8 in
rubbed French prestige marks, probably SWiss, circa 1795
oval, the lid inset with an oval medallion painted with lovers in a garden near a burning altar, split pearl frame, the ground enamelled in translucent purple over rays with coloured paillon borders and side urns

Condition
Please note the ground enamel is a rich purple not blue as appears in the catalogue. The condition is excellent apart from a scrape to the enamel on the outer border of lid at 4 o'clock and a smaller scrape at 11 o'clock. There is discreet restoration to enamel borders.
