  • width 6.5cm, 2 1/2 in
rubbed French prestige marks, probably Geneva, circa 1785



oval, the lid inset with an oval enamel plaque painted with Arcadian lovers inscribing the word: Amor on a tree, the ground intriguingly engine-turned to resemble basketwork within borders alternating gold sprigs on white enamel and multi-coloured enamelled and chased garlands

Condition

The borders with minor losses and scrapes to enamel which do not detract from the appearance. Otherwise in generally good condition. The surface was previously enamelled.
