Description

the first probably Geneva, circa 1820, the bezel forming a secret hinged compartment, its lid set with a tiny enamel plaque painted with a girl in peasant costume, the shank flowered in black and white enamel; the second slightly earlier, the shoulders enamelled in black and white with pansies

Condition

1st - surface of enamel portrait scratched; shank with some enamel losses consistent with wear; struck with later French "hibou" control mark 2nd - also has minor enamel losses and is struck with Paris petite garantie for 1819-1838 and later "hibou" mark
