Description

  • Paul Evans
  • Sideboard
  • with welded signature and date
  • a powerful example in red, yellow and blue enameled steel, slate and wood

from the "Sculpted Steel" series

Condition

Overall in very good original condition. With scattered surface scratches, rubbing, chips to paint revealing gray metal underneath and minor dents consistent with age and use. Reverse of the sideboard with a three-sided wood frame likely for hanging. Possibly repainting adjacent to the frame. The front two doors do not close properly and remain slightly open. Possibly needs new magnet. Interior reveals one removable shelf and one drawer to each side. Appears to have retained all original hardware. Interior of drawers lined with felt. Although clearly designed as a hanging sideboard, the piece has a lower element that would allow it be used on the floor with doors fully functional, which is how it has been catalogued and exhibited.
